RIPPONDEN

The village of Ripponden developed where the packhorse routes of Elland and Halifax met and then crossed into Lancashire. Originally there was a ford over the river, followed later by a timber bridge, a stone bridge (1533) and the present day mid-eighteenth century bridge.

Ripponden is a sought after location in the calder valley which has fantastic walking and cycling routes. The village is known to be extremely dog friendly and has some fantastic pubs and eateries.

Next to Riverside has a the Ryburn River and Ripponden Park which is great for Children and far from any main roads.

PUBS & EATERIES

There are many pubs and eateries that are both dog friendly and child friendly. Including The Lion, The Last Post, The Alma Inn and The Malthouse. Close to Riverside there is also The Old Bridge Inn next to the church. A historic landmark of the village dating back to the 1300s.

There are also some great takeaways such as the award winning Elliots Craft Pizza & Grill and local winery Ripponden Wine Co if you are wanting to eat from the comfort of the site.
